An Apology

Dear Readers,

After reading last week’s edition of the Wise Citizen, I realized that I made a few careless mistakes. I was rushing through because I wanted to get something out for that Friday morning, and I failed to do a thorough read-through of my work. Subsequently, I embarrassed myself and sent out something I am not proud of, and I do not want to ever do that again.

Not only did I fail myself, but I failed you, the reader. You trusted me to give you a good product, but I didn’t deliver. For that, I am genuinely sorry.

I want to create a quality product, and thus far, I feel as though I have been unsuccessful. I knew a weekly newsletter would be a lot to take on, but I underestimated how much work it would take to achieve what I wanted to do with Wise Citizen.

In a perfect world, The Visionary Herald would be a legitimate, printed newspaper, and I would be the editor and contributor. I would also have many writers and editors working alongside me to create meaningful essays and articles, along with double and triple-checking every word.

Obviously, that is not the case. I do not have a team of writers and editors, and I do not print and publish a paper every day. I try to send out one newsletter a week and post one editorial, really a mini-essay, every week.

So, I’ve devised a plan.

It used to be that magazines and newsletters published an article every month, mainly because they needed the time to write all the articles that filled the magazine and print out enough copies to mail to all the subscribers and sell at the newsstands around town.

Of course, the medium I’ve chosen does not require me to print out tens of thousands of copies, but I would like to emulate that medium as much as I possibly can.

So, with that…Wise Citizen is no longer. The Visionary Herald will convert to an online magazine going forward.

Don’t fret—this won’t take effect until October of this year. Expect to read an editorial every week for all of September. But beginning in October, the entirety of the content from The Herald will be sent out via email and posted on the website.

A new edition will be posted every month. It will contain the same content, just released once a month, as opposed to a weekly article and a weekly, uncorrelated newsletter.

I hope that I can not only create better content for all of you but also present it in a way that is easy to digest for all readers. Please let all of your friends and families know about this monumental and ground-breaking change.

Thank you for reading that extremely long apology letter.

Very sincerely,

Nathaniel Stryker
